Saba banana is a triploid hybrid (ABB) banana cultivar originating from the Philippines. It is primarily a cooking banana. The fruits are distinctively squarish and angular. The flesh is white and starchy, making it ideal for cooking. These steamed frozen bananas can be used in various cooking applicaitons from baking banana cakes and muffins, or deep fried as a fritter. They can also be cooked with coconut milk and glutinous rice and served as a dessert.
