Chocolate and chilli go together so well - the punchy spiciness of the chilli effortlessly cuts through the rich and creamy dark chocolate. Chilli flakes lend quite a strong chilli heat to dishes, so just add a small pinch at first.
Chilli Hot Chocolate
4 cups whole milk
1 small pinch chilli flakes (CHIFLP)
1 cinnamon quill (CINQUI)
¼ teaspoon flaky sea salt (SALFLG)
150 grams high quality dark chocolate (CHOCDG)
Add milk, chilli flakes, cinnamon quill and salt to large sauce pan.
Whisk together and place over a low heat. Heat milk until it is almost boiling.
Remove from the heat, strain and add then add back to your pot.
Add chocolate and whisk until melted. Taste your hot chocolate at this point - you may need return it to the heat to warm before serving.
Whisk hot chocolate briskly for one minute so it becomes frothy.
Pour evenly between four mugs and enjoy immediately.
