My wife Krystal makes something similar to these. I’ve made them a little more chefy like tho. This recipe, a simple salad and you have a great meal for friends. These with Super bowl Monday and you’ll be the man forever
Soy & Honey Chicken
Soy and honey glaze
250g hoisin sauce
420g soy sauce
120g rice wine vinegar
120g water
165g brown sugar
8g ginger minced
8g garlic paste
70g cornflour
70g water
Cooking
2kg x chicken wings
Mix all ingredients together in a sauce pot large enough to hold 2 litres.
Put 300g aside to marinate chicken wings later
Put sauce pot on a medium to high heat and bring sauce to the boil
Mix cornflour and water together
Continually whisking, add the cornflour mixture into the boiling sauce. Bring back to the boil and keep cooking until corn flavour has been cooked out (5-10 minutes)
If sauce is quite thin add more cornflour. If too thick add water and soy sauce.
Pass glaze though a sieve and keep to one side for wings later
Cooking
2kg chicken wings
Cut wing tip off of wing and cut in half
Mix wings with 300g unthicken glaze from above and leave to marinate for 12 hours.
Put wings and marinate into an oven bag and cook at 150C for 45-60 minutes.
Remove wings from oven and leave to cool
When ready to serve, pre heat oven to 250C
Remove wings from bag and cooking liquid, mix with glaze and reheat into a very hot oven on baking paper for 10-15 minutes.
Wings will start to darken slightly-this is good
Serve with sesame seeds on top
