Boysenberries are a cross between raspberries and blackberries. The berry itself is a purple colour and like a raspberry and blackberry, is an aggregate fruit, packed with numerous vitamins and minerals. These are marketed as frozen or fresh, but the additional benefits of freezing are that the berry can be kept fresh for a longer period of time. Boysenberries are often used to make jams, jellies, desserts and pies.
